The Florida Epsilon chapter would like to recognize one of our very own for the profound influence he has had not only on the growth and development of our chapter, but Florida State University as a whole throughout his time here on campus.
“Florida State doesn’t owe me anything, I owe everything to Florida State.”
-Mike Martin
Brother Manny Osaba, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Public Relations and Sports Management this spring, views his four years at Florida State similarly to how the legendary Coach Mike Martin envisions his tenure here.
Since arriving at Florida State, Manny has left a legacy on campus that few can match. His long list of accomplishments and accolades are a direct reflection of Manny’s drive to constantly improve the environment around him. Serving as the Seminole Student Boosters’ President, he worked with Coach Leonard Hamilton and Men’s Basketball to help restart the “Nole Zone”, the Men’s Basketball student section, he organized the appearance of Bobby Bowden at the annual Student Boosters Golden Gala, and spearheaded the design process for the “TRUE” Seminole T-shirt for the 2018-2019 school year. These shirts are purchased by fans and contribute to a scholarship endowment of over $250,000 for student athletes. Manny also represented Sigma Phi Epsilon on the 2019 Homecoming Court, where he was honored at halftime of the Syracuse game.
Serving with the Academic Recruitment Organization, Manny assisted in giving tours to prospective honors students choosing between FSU and other top schools. He was able to persuade several students to commit to FSU over other schools like Georgetown and the University of Florida.
The list continues on with the tangible awards and recognitions that Manny has received, but the long-lasting positive impact he has had on the Florida Epsilon Chapter will forever be engrained in the memories of our younger brothers. Manny is a role model and an example for what it means to be a Balanced Man in this fraternity. When asked why he chose SigEp, Manny responded with “I chose SigEp simply for the tradition of the Balanced Man.” At the end of his four years, there is no better way to sum up his time as a brother.
The Brothers of the Florida Epsilon chapter wish Manny the best of luck as he continues his academic endeavors in the pursuit of a Masters in Sports Management at Florida State.
